OK. So we're almost ready to start work on the extension of our coffee bar into the first floor roof space. There will be room for around 40 more seats which will overlook the stage where the 'live music' will be performed in the evening.

At present we expect to host 'live jazz' twice-a-week in the evenings. Our aim is to promote local talent alongside National names. We have secured a house band with the John Porter Trio. John, a double bass player is local to Newark and plays worldwide in a wide range of setups from Big band to Trio, Orchestra to Studio.

We will be introducing more ideas as we get them and as soon as the new extension to Stray's Coffee is ready to start, you can be sure we'll be talking about it here.

As for Jazz to take home with you we are also now able to offer Jazz on CD to order via Amazon. Mat has put together some of the playlists of jazz that you hear when you're in the coffee bar and he is currently working out a deal with Jazz Mail Order Company CrazyJazz to stock a range of jazz on CD in the shop.
