Hi Antony & Andrea,

thanks for the feedback! I'll try to answer as many as I can!
A small cap comes with a single shot of coffee as a double is quite strong - partly because we pour our caps quite 'dry' compared to some 'mainstream' coffee bars.
A reg has two shots which is about 4.5-5oz (the cup is only 12 oz so about half is espresso) A grande can have 1,2 or 3 shots, whichever you specify but standard comes with 2 as 3 shots again is quite strong. Basically, you can have the drinks however you like - our menu aims to recommend the right combo for our 'best format' for each drink. And because we make them all to order, we can tweak your drink pretty much to however you want it. And to that end, a 'wazzy' was our light-hearted description of a 'weak' drink. It's Nottingham slang that was a bit of fun but it stuck!
With reference to 'smooth' milk, we layer or milk when frothing the cap milk so it should be smooth and we always use 'full fat' milk unless you specify other - semi, skinny or soya
We're just experimenting with the side dish to get a combo that the majority likes. Once we have our new kitchens set up, the menu offer will increase with even more choices!
And you're right about the bread. It does come in a bag but from a local bakery and has very few additives in it, to ensure flavour and quality.
Thanks for the feedback also about the staff. We have a great bunch of folks and they'll appreciate your kind words.
And we know about the seats/tables by the bookshop. It will be rectified when the extension is completed in the next couple of weeks.
I'll look into the plain choc for Mocha and I'm also working on a pilot store for franchising the 'coffee bar' part of Stray's. Maybe we'll contact you in a year or so and you can have your own place in Louth!?
Again, thanks for your kind words and for taking the time to share. We aim to please and it's great when we get told we're getting it right.
see you soon,

My partner and I had lunch at Strays yesterday (Wednesday 16th November), and we thought you'd appreciate reading our feedback... as we live close to Louth in Lincolnshire, we don't get to visit Strays as often as we'd like to, but every time that we do, we're impressed with your "consistency"... I had a small cappuccino with an egg/cress sandwich - next time I'll order a medium, although I wonder if the size is increased with an extra espresso/milk/water? The strength of coffee in my small cappuccino was weaker than a few years ago, when I first came to Strays in 2008. The two shots of espresso must be quite small, and I would probably need at least three! Would a medium have three shots in it? My sandwich was excellent - the granary bread was fresh and tasty, the egg firm and yummy without too much mayo, and the watercress tasted fresh too! The crisps were good - not too salty or flavoured, and the small pot of crunchy salad was a thoughtful accompaniment, if a little "windy": raw onion, cabbage and leek overpowering the rather more delicate flavour of the sandwich for me... My partner had the same coffee as me, and she commented on the "smoothness" of the milk - was it full fat? For semi-skimmed milk next time, do we request "skinny", and what does "wazzy" mean please?! Her sandwich was the ham/tomatoe in granary bread... again, she loved the bread - so many eateries make the mistake of using cheap "packet" bread that lasts longer but tastes like nothing, being full of holes! (and preservatives!) The ham was of a good quality, being off-the-bone, and perfect with tomatoes... the pot of salad was too "oniony" for her, and as such would've been hard for her to digest, but she liked the crisps. The staff were all polite, alert to our needs, informative and seemed to be happy in their work... the surroundings were warm enough (unless we had to sit by the front door!) in the area just before the bookshop, where the seats are a little low down for the height of the tables! Try them! A couple of sofas and coffee tables might be an idea, to create more of a Coffee Lounge atmosphere... the background jazz music was just right: relaxing without being obtrusive. We purchased a fridge biscuit to take home, which was delicious! In fact, we fancied at least six of your cakes on display! Maybe next time... We used to visit Starbucks, until we were led aStray... to a place where the coffee still tastes of coffee, and not of milk! Here's a personal request for you... I'd love a "plain chocolate" mochaccino... and a Strays Cafe in Louth would be nice too!! There's would be no competition for you there... Antony & Andrea
